Introduction
An organisation that works with the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom to advance genomic medicine. This involves using information from a person's genes to better understand, diagnose, and treat diseases and cancers.
The Challenge
The product and design team encountered obstacles in using existing research to guide the design of future services. The main challenge was the fragmentation of research insights, which were stored in different formats and scattered across various platforms. This made it difficult to access and synthesise the information, resulting in a lack of a single source of truth and a challenge to understand the current experience with the service.
What I Did
I was tasked to identify opportunities and gaps in the current service experience for NHS healthcare professionals. I took a approach by suggesting that instead of conducting additional research, we consolidate and utilise the existing research and build a first iteration of a research repository. As a result, this has minimised duplication of efforts and enabled the product and design community to track pain points more effectively, empowering the product owners to make informed decisions. Additionally, the design team gained visibility into how their work impacted delivery, contributing to the overall commercial success of the organisation.
ORGANISING RESEARCH FINDINGS
The Challenge
There was no easy way for the team to understand the findings from previous research conducted and findings were not documented consistently. This meant it has been difficult for the business to make informed decisions
